PRESS RELEASE

Archivio Emily Harvey opens its newly renovated space in Venice, Italy, with Intervening the Space: Revisiting Gordon Matta-Clark and Holocene Passage by John Roloff. These two solo exhibitions feature site-documentary photographs by the late Gordon Matta-Clark, and an architectural installation by John Roloff. The exhibition, part of NEXT, The Venice Biennale's 8th International Architecture Exhibition, opens September 5th and runs to November 3rd 2002, and is co-curated by Lance Fung and Emily Harvey.

Archivio Emily Harvey, a non-profit exhibition space, opened last year with an exhibition 537 Broadway Comes to Venice! The Broadway address is that of the Emily Harvey Gallery in New York, well-known for its two decades of commitment to historical and recent work by Fluxus and other conceptual artists.

The Archivio will focus on Fluxus, intermedia, video and poesia visive, and present shows on a periodic basis. In addition to exhibitions, the Archivio will sponsor projects and publications that explore these areas of research.

Archivio Emily Harvey is located at the foot of the Rialto Bridge Arcade at San Polo, 387, 30125 Venezia. It is one flight up--at the top of an exterior stair.
